One of the best history websites out there is “Origins,” edited by historians Nicholas Breyfogle and Steven Conn at Ohio State University. Each month historians tackle a new subject of current interest and write an extended essay about its history. The articles are all nicely illustrated and linked to other resources on the web. This month William Childs, a historian of the U.S. (and UTAustin grad), takes on energy policy. Previous issues looked at The United Nations, drug trafficking in Latin America, the history of nuclear power in Japan, the history of US-Haiti relations, Russian Presidential Elections–just a very brief sample of a very rich archive.
