Her article, “Navajo is more than a fashion trend,” offers historical background to the controversy over Urban Outiftters’ new line of clothes labeled “Navajo” and featuring such items as a flask and underwear with Navajo-like patterns. Bsumek is the author of Indian-Made: Navajo Culture in the Marketplace, 1868-1940.
